Edith Young works in art and design with a studio and advisory.
I am a new york-based illustrator and writer with a strong sense for the conceptual, the colorful, and the whimsical. My projects span identity design, effusively branded material, editorial assignments, books, visual essays, wedding schemes and other personal commissions.
Delightful clients include: The Carlyle Hotel, nike, Schumacher, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, The Wall Street Journal, Google, wetransfer, Big Night, & Karhu.
I write Powers of Observation, a newsletter of illustrated essays on New York as observed by someone who adores it.

In 2021, Princeton Architectural Press published my first book, Color Scheme: An Irreverent History of Art and Pop Culture in Color Palettes. Prints of my art historical palettes are available here.
I studied photography and the art of problem solving at the Rhode Island School of Design. I am the editor of Bergdorf Goodman.
