to mark nike’s support of the 2025 printed matter new york art book fair at moma ps1—WHICH makes sunday free to all attendees—we PARTNERED TO produce 4,000 bookmarks and ACCOMPANYING stickers, INSPIRED BY MY RELATIONSHIP TO BOTH SPORT AND ART. THESE made it into the hands of MOST SUNDAY VISITORS.

I learned how to play tennis as a kid on the dusty clay courts of a small town, dashing around in Nikes. The sneakers changed in size and style over the years, but everything else stayed more or less the same, down to the tools used to reset the court after play. This always led to deliberations over which player was better suited to the clumsy drag brush that erases footprints with its bristles, or the precision instrument of the liner. I favored the liner: the sound of its squeaky wheels, the dust cloud it stirred up, and the close attention its task demanded. Its long profile mirrored the elegance of the game of tennis itself. The ritual of maintenance punctuated the end of a day on the court.
What happens when the satisfying line sweeper falls into the hands of an artist? She repurposes it as an artist's tool for line drawing.
